Hello Noreen,

You can use the Audible app to read books from audible.com. Are you familiar
with this service?

If your regular public library is registered with OneClick, you can use the
One-click app to download and read their audio books on your iPhone.

Similarly, your library might use Overdrive as does the NCBI and this also
has an iPhone app called Overdrive which you can download to your iPhone.

All of these apps are free. They control the licence to read their books and
that is why they have been created for the iPhone.

If you like to read books in mp3 format, you can download them to the iPhone
using iTunes as "music" and they will be listed under "Music" in the iPhone.
There are different ways to transfer them into iTunes and through iTunes
into the iPhone so it might be best to respond to specific questions on this
technique if they arise.

You can transfer audible, One-click and Overdrive books to mp3 format on
your desktop computer and then they can be transferred using iTunes into
your iPhone.

Books in WMA format cannot be read on the iPhone and must be sent through
their respective apps to convert them to mp3.

If you have any questions on these items I will happily answer as best I
can. I use all of them on my iPhone which is a 4S running IOS 6.01.

All the best,

Cearbhall
