Hi Mike,
Are you sure that the text of the books is not displayed as images?
It is not unusual to have pdf documents composed as an actual picture of
each page, where the picture contains text.
In this case jaws will not be able to read it, as it cannot handle text
embedded in images.

Hello Vickers,
I downloaded a book a few days ago and am trying since to get Adobe to read
it. I have the version 7.08 and I can't get a murmur out of it. The writing
comes up on the screen I'm told by my Wife but it doesn't allow
you to copy. I've tried using Kurtzweil and I get the message it can't
access the file. Can anybody help.
Frustrated!!
