Just had a quick test of pre7 under OS 11.3 32bit and wrt to pyjacksm
its still behaving the same as pre6- sometimes JACK MIDI connects but
most of the time it doesn't. I do wonder if its possible to get pyjack
to start yoshimi after A3 or last in the session (atm yosh starts
first but maybe thats just because A3 takes longer to load) if that
would ensure the JACK MIDI connection gets formed correctly every
time?

I've tried two different RT kernels so far but had problems with gdm
logon with both- I'd log in then get booted back out to login so I
dunno if that would improve JS at all yet. Will keep you posted on
that.

I forgot to mention that the J2 used in opensuse 11.3 (1.9.5) is too
old to feature JS so I had to compile J2 from svn (1.9.7) to get
session support under A3 and Yosh.

Points of note -

- as per desktop.org standards, it now uses $HOME/.config/yoshimi/ for config
and
state files. If it can't find a ~/.config/yoshimi/yoshimi.config, it looks
for the old $HOME/.yoshimiXML.cfg file and copies it over.

- CMakeLists.txt has changed significantly. Including a run of ccmake in your
build process and checking your build options is probably a good idea.

- new dependency on the boost development headers.

- Will Godfrey's instrument collection has been reorganised (by Will!).

Provided this mostly works (and I think it does), I'm about ready to call it
0.060
and move on. I found the last noted bit that fell off - more a job for
araldite
than superglue. I just hope I've stuck it back on right way up.

cheers.
