On my office machine (sempron in 32bit mode) I have a strange problem. If I try
to load either Master Synth High, or Master Synth Low the audio system frezzes,
and dissapears from jack. all GUI stuff still seems to work (even changes
voices again) but I can get no sound, nor can I quit Yoshi without forcing in
with a kill command. It only ever happens with these two patches. They are the
only ones with a four part kit (Hyper Matrix is three part).
Rather than the number of parts, I think the suspicious element is that the two
Master synths have a Pad component in the kit, Hyper Matrix doesn't. There's a
funky locking arrangement involved in loading a PADsynth instrument. It's always
been there, but it's highly possible I've irritated it's comfort level. I figure
that's where I should be looking as a starting point.
