Hi Martin
I'm not disputing what you tell me, just trying to understand, so I wonder
why if I need to turn on admin rites and set the IP address on the laptop,
why I don't get that kind of message, instead of the one that just says
"connected with limited access"? Obviously it is the limited access that is
denying the laptop's connection to the internet.
Sorry If I'm not too clear, but what I was trying to say, was that my PC is
hard wired, and the laptop wirleess, so yes, I am using the PC to send these
emails; what I did just to see what would happen, was to make the laptop
wired, by plugging the Ethernet cable in to it, instead of the PC, this way,
I was able to get access to the internet, so doesn't that mean the IP
address is already established on the laptop?
Regarding IP addresses, you said in an earlier post that I would need to set
the IP on the laptop to the next number up from the IP on the PC, i.e.
192.168.0.2 or similar, and what I was queerying about hotspots was that if
I was in a bar that offered connectivity, would I need to know their IP
address in order to set the laptop IP address in sequence to it?
Insidentally, is it normal for a router to feel what I would call hot or
very warm, rather than just warm? -
