Hi Andy. on this subject I would say that 2 GB of ram is likely to be a good amount to go for. a 300 GB drive should also be fine. it may well be worth purchasing a 300 gb or greater disk for backup purposes. This plugs into a USB port. I know of no issues of compatibility with jaws and larger monitors. If you want a quietish PC then it may be a good idea not to insist on the best quality graphics card. a budget job costing about £50 should do fine. More powerful graphics cards that play recent 3D games such as Doom, call of duty etc. require a more power-humgry graphics card which is likely to require a larger fan. Passive cooling systems with no fan exist for these kind of cards but they are very expensive. regards Graham ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2007 10:42 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: New computer recomendations Hi Andy, > 300 500 GB of memory. Are you trying to compete against the proposed National Database? (Smile) I'd have thought 3 - 5 Gigabytes of RAM would be quite a luxury!
