Carol - Narrator is still there in Vista, and can't see why it couldn't be used in the way you have use it in XP; clearly, Goldwave doesn't record Narrator then! I assume it doesn't record system sound either? You'll have gathered that I haven't done much recording in Goldwave yet! - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 4:50 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: VISTA and recording with GoldWave | Andy, | | In XP I got round the JFW problem by discovering that Narator wasn't half | bad reading out the needed screen to alter sound settings, so I started to | use it and found I was well pleased that I could still have some speech and | unload Jaws. | | Never thought I'd see the day though when I opted for Narator as an option. | | Now, I have a funny feeling someone said that has been removed in Vista ... | | Must be time for another drink or two before we tackle that one ... | | -- | Carol | carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx | | | | On Monday, March 31, 2008 4:39 PM (UK time), Andy Collins at | andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx said: | | > Well Ray, JFW gets recorded, so unloading is required! - | > | > Andy | > ----- Original Message ----- | > From: "Ray's Home" <rays-home@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> | > To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | > Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 4:34 PM | > Subject: [access-uk] Re: VISTA and recording with GoldWave | > | > | >> That's good Andy. | >> | >> Thinking of possible reasons why this mixer setting is disabled by | >> default, could be to stop system sounds getting into recordings? | >> Then again, maybe they're controled separately. | >> | >> Cheers, | >> | >> From Ray | >> I can be contacted off-list at: | >> mailto:ray-48@xxxxxxxx | >> | >> | >> -----Original Message----- | >> Andy Collins | >> Subject: [access-uk] Re: VISTA and recording with GoldWave | >> | >> | >> James, many thanks for this, I can now confirm to all that have been | >> interested in this thread, that from following the directions from | >> the link | >> in the below message, I am now able to record streams on my Vista | >> laptop, | >> using Goldwave! - | >> | >> Andy | >> ----- Original Message ----- | >> From: "James O'Dell" <katherineandjames@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> | >> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | >> Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 12:41 PM | >> Subject: [access-uk] Re: VISTA and recording with GoldWave | >> | >> | >>> Hi | >>> | >>> Try these instructions, same as what I sent the other day but a bit | >>> clearer. | >>> | >>> http://iandixon.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!36983156CAA83EA9!1725.entry | >>> | >>> James | >>> ----- Original Message ----- | >>> From: "Ray's Home" <rays-home@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> | >>> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | >>> Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 12:16 PM | >>> Subject: [access-uk] Re: VISTA and recording with GoldWave | >>> | >>> | >>>> Andy, this is interesting indeed as the other Andy is pursuing this | >>>> question on the Goldwave list.
