Alex,

You would be advised to test it with Skype though, to ensure that the recordings are OK in Skype. (It has been known for other programs to record well and not Skype for some reason . . ..)

Tell us what you think of the recording and we may have further advice, but it sounds as though you're well on the way now.

Hi Douglas and all,

Douglas, Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried it and with sound recorder the microphone does work. although I am not sure if it will work with goldwave which I have.

I have downloaded and installed skipe version 2.5 as when I was talking to Peter Beasley on the telephone regarding issues to do with this thread, I could not get the software for the speak easy room at www.ourplace.acbradio.orgto install correctly on my laptop, therefore I have now installed skipe 2.5 as I was going to use it to test my microphone, but I have not tested it with the microphone due to the suggestion Douglas gave in the e-mail to which I am replying.
