[access-uk] setting up a microphone with a PC running Windows XP and Jaws 87.1

Hi all,
I have just purchased a set of headphones with a built-in microphone, how
can I check that the microphone will work in conjunction with the laptop I
have connected it to which is running Jaws 7.10 and Windows XP.
any pointers would be appreciated.
