Some folks are allergic to dogs. Some folks don't want to pick up dog doo. Some 
folks just don't like dogs. When devices fail, the failure is predictable, and 
the cause can usually easily be diagnosed. Who knows why an animal may 
misbehave? Also, over time, an electronic device becomes cheaper to maintain, 
but of course we must remember that people don't pay for their guide dogs, so 
they have little idea of the costs involved.

Your right.  Although I still think a live thing is alot better than a cold 
mechanical thing with no personality or heart.

Technology is great for the most part but it is mechanical and can go down more 
often than a live cuddly dog.
