I also would love to see the ability to download map segments at some point.
One of the reasons I bought an iPhone with 64 gig of memory was because
Senderro tends to use a model that has you store maps on your device.
Also, Mr. May had written a highly publicized article a couple years ago
about the advantages of local maps verses server-based maps. I'm sure
there's a huge list of things people want to see, and hopefully, we will
eventually see this one as well.

Hi Mike,

I appreciate the reasons for Seeing Eye having server-based maps only at
this time. I hope for some sort of hybrid solution in the future, which
could retain the advantages of maps being updated more frequently, as they
are updated on the server, but still allow us to download map segments if we
need them, e.g. when we know we're going to be in bad coverage areas or if
we anticipate heavy use of the app.

I've been using the app, and I haven't noticed that it eats battery to the
extent that I would be worried about running out of power for phone calls.
However, I do have one of those cases with an auxiliary battery pack, which
has come in handy on occasion. Given how my Android device eats battery when
the screen is on, even when not running a gps app, I'm happy with the
battery results on my 4S, but would like to see the added flexibility that
is apparently possible with something like Google Maps, at some time in the
future.

Mary
