John,

You should ask for permission from the pilot. Do this by having a print note 
saying, "may I use my Braille GPS on the flight?" Ask the flight attendant to 
present the note to the pilot. Do not ask the flight attendant.

Southwest Airlines is the only one who says in their manual that GPS is 
permitted. You must ask the others.
