Peggy,

Your 2 GB card should handle CA and Oregon, and probably a third state. You can certainly download them and see about the size.

The entire U.S. has increased from 7GB to 10GB in version 5. Our default card is now a 16GB card loaded with 9 regions covering the U.S. An optional 32GB card loaded is also available.

An SD card is also an option on the mPower and they too come in 16GB.

Does, or will, Sendero sell the 16-gig cards? I don't know if I want to get maps for the whole country, but if I do, I'd want to get the right type of card. And will I still be able to fit California, Oregon and Washington all on my 2-gig card that I use now, or will I need to get a bigger card for those three states?

On a related note, is it possible to put the maps on a sd card?

Hi. In another e-mail i got it was mentioned about the size of the cf card
needhing to be 16 gig for the next update to hold th maps. My question is,
is it possible or cheaper to just download the upgrade and, can we just copy

in the maps for the statees we need so not requiring new cards or needing to

load the whole map when you may not always use it all?

The new feature I will be discussing today is the ability to create a
route from a replay file.

In version 4.0 we introduced the ability to record your GPS session,
We call it the GPS replay functionality. This is where you can record
the GPS signals to a file and play them back whenever you wish. Until
now you could only create an automatic route and hope the replay went
along that route.
Now you can convert that replay into a route with turn by turn
instructions. If you are walking along the city streets and have a
map loaded the street names will be used for the turns. If you are
walking along the beach or woods and there are no streets to travel
along, no problem as you will still receive turn by turn instructions
to when you actually made the turns.
You also do not need to set a destination as the system knows the end
of the replay file is your destination. You can now also add notes to
a replay file as you are recording it. We call them annotations. When
playing the replay back the annotation will be announced at the exact
time it was recorded. The Route created from the replay file will
use the annotations as waypoints along your route as well.

To create a route from a replay file: from within GPS press R for the
route commands menu, then press F to create a route from a replay
file.

Hope you have enjoyed this sneak peak into what's to come in Sendero
GPS version 5.0.
