Hi All,

Firefox being the best browser, i was surprised to see its behaviour in
terms of CPU Usage. Without Firefox the CPU usage would  be 30% and once
i
open Firefox, the CPU usage goes to 80% and it stays forever there at
that
mark. If i close, the CPU comes down to 30%.

We also tested with thin clients. Firefox is bringing down the
performance
of the server very badly. We tested with FC3 as our server. Is the
Firefox
shipped with FC3 causing the problem?. Or should i need to test with
RHEL or
SuSE Enterprise Linux Server ?. Now we are pushed to find an alternative
to
Firefox in terms of performance, which i dont want to.

I would be happy to get inputs on how to make Firefox cpu usage low.

Thank You.

Why don't you try building Firefox on the machine you're using with
"optimized" settings?  I believe some default builds come with "debug"
settings on, talkback etc.

What version are you using?  What does your "about:buildconfig" say?

Here is my about:buildlog
