A friend of mine recently commented that he didn't want to join the
list because the signal-to-noise ratio was too low :)
Am not taking sides either :)
Not playing list police, and not taking up too much time in meta threads
like this does help improve SNR.
Like I said - Dr.Sreeram is free to appoint someone (say Bharati) to do the
"actual" admining of the list, and he can strive to keep discussions on
topic, as well as unsubscribe (say) people sending social networking emails,
recruitment and body shopping posts completely unrelated to linux etc.
Egregious violations.
Wasting everybody's time chasing after top posters and sms speakers is just
not on.
