I heard Thinkpads are the best for Linux and Vaio's
the worst.
This is in terms of H/W support.
I'd recommend Thinkpad anyday, and would suggest to best avoid notebooks
from the Asian market if you are looking for sturdy-build coupled with
excellent Linux support (esp. the cheap ones from Fujitsu, Jaguar,
Sharp, Toshiba and Sony). But then again, that's just my personal
opinion. Even Dell laptops are way better. Owning a Powerbook is like
owning a Mercedes (and not many would want Linux on that box).
What does the ILUGC community prefer.. ?
I wish I could own a Tadpole's BullFrog someday ;-)
