the more expensive thinkpads have touchpads, though - but they're
considerably more expensive
there's a linux on laptops site that has detailed howtos on installing
various distros on laptops .. some of these are outdated, others are
less detailed and say stuff like "i dont use this so i didnt try it" etc
.. but you should be able to work stuff out.
i've been using this acer for a while now and it is pretty good.
