Yet I wonder about the next-best thing. Is it a DVD
such as Cliff is investigating?

I have pretty much reached the end of the road in this search for
a way to view the Blu-ray disk properly on a 4:3 monitor.

It cannot be done.

The way the disk is authored it can't be done because Warner has
disabled the built in player controls that otherwise would make
the image fit a 4:3 screen.

I will guess that this is another attempt on the part of the content producers to plug the 'analog hole'.

We will have to be satisfied with the standard DVD version to watch
the film on a 4:3 monitor.
