I assume that "we" means you. If so, that is simply one persons experience
but it is clear evidence of what "Can" be done when one is dedicated.
Unfortunately, that is not the norm, the average viewer will try once, maybe
twice, but will not make it a major project.

Completely agree. The "packing" of analog and digital channels was know, at
it's inception, to be an impediment to reception, albeit mostly temporary in
nature.
Reception problems, not related to multipath issues should certainly improve
for many after the analog cut off.

Again, I agree, Though in my experience, which is relatively significant,
this is not a universal problem by any means. But clearly, where significant
propagation disparage exists between A and D facilities, reception problems
will result.

Agree, however I believe that we may be nearing a "tipping point" where the
market may be become saturated by marginal receivers.

That is so, if it can be done. However, IMO, there are other significant
forces at play which have led us to our current dilemma and which are not
under our control.
