I didn't intend to imply that, consumers will generally only purchase what they value. I'm a typical consumer and I own a fairly major DTV system - which I love and would love even more were I able to receive OTA DTV! If you were involved, as I was, at the genesis of the Digital Television Systems planning back in the early 80's, you would know of what I speak. The CEA folks, who were the prime movers in this development, were openly in a feeding frenzy contemplating the profits to be made from this technical advancement. Is that necessarily bad - of course not. They produced something of value and are now rightfully benefiting from that development. My point is however: others also made very large contributions to supply the content and delivery infrastructures required to make this system viable and some in that group will never reap significant benefit from that investment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
