As I understand it, the LTE proponents seek to have 20 MHz wide RF channels, possibly by agglomerating non-contiguous 6-MHz RF channels. Have the LTE proponents given adequate thought to the RF transmission and reception problems involved in doing this? The proponents may be primarily from wired baseband digital communications backgrounds and not have much feel for the analog problems of over-the-air broadcasting. I remember us having problems designing receivers for 6Mz and 8 MHz wide RF channels in my youth. A guy I know said the military is pirating receiver designs from the last century since all the front-end designers in America are over seventy years old. Is anyone reading opendtv calibrated on this?
