The track passes through a hilly landscape so it's likely quite
twist-and-turny, but when looking out over the town, the track towards
it, and the enemy forces north of the town, LW is given the option of
turning west or to follow the track back. If he chooses the latter
option and he's got the right discipline, he's told that enemy forces
are in the hills east of the town and that he risks being ambushed by
them. (And later on he'll enter the Mordril forest south of the town.)
It seems impossible that the track continues eastwards at this point,
it must be northwestwards or possibly northwards.
