Since it was a scoring play, shouldn't they had the option to assess the
penalty on the kickoff ? Or is that only for penalties on PATs ?
They would have saved seconds from the clock and tried the onside kick five
yards ahead.

Or, if it was a "fat" 5 yards to go, wouldn't it then be 4th and inches?
