Hi,I really don't think recommending a system alteration like the below in this particular situation is wise. Changing the page/swap file settings, or indeed moving it, is a task which should only be carried out if the computer user knows exactly what they are doing and what implications they may face.
A website which is not performing as normal is rarely down to a problem with the user's Operating System settings.
- Could cookies have been turned off in the browser? - Could JavaScript have been disabled? - As suggested, check the security settings.- Could there have been a problem with the Internet Service Provider (BT Ireland)?
- Could there have been a problem with Aerlingus's site?I guess what I'm trying to say is, eliminate the easy stuff before making the major and sometimes potentially dangerous changes!
If a problem with browsing a website is on the user's side (and it rarely is!), it's generally caused by a browser setting being changed. Most of the time, it's usually a problem with the connection to the site (your ISP), or the monkeys... like me, who build online applications!.. and nothing to do with you, the user.

Maureen, Paul traynor would be more use in responding to this question than I am! You will find the information under "system" in Control Panel. If you open the advanced tab and click on memory usage. This will show you whether performance is optimised for programmes or system cache. Click on the "change" button to see what you are currently set at. You should be allocating more than the recommended values.Be careful going into this setting as you could make a mess of things if youare not very clear on what you are doing. You will be OK if you change nothing! JAWS takes up so muchmemoryand so do internet pages with images. How much RAM have you got? Youcan seeit under System in Control Panel. Can you check the settings under multi-media in the advanced sectionofInternet options and see if you are downloading images. If so, tryturningoff everything to do with images. See if that speeds things up. The other thing to check is the size of your swap file. This is aspace thatWindows allocates to lay off bits of memory to make room for working modules. If this is too small, the computer will slow down and evencrashout. If your memory in RAM is limited this could also contribute totheproblem and its effects would vary every time because it relates totheworkload of the computer in handling all the applications that areopen. All the best, Cearbhall "Good design enables - Bad design disables" -----Original Message----- From: vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vicsireland-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of maureen newell Sent: 14 January 2007 18:58 To: vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Aerlingus Hello Cearbhall, I am using Internet Explorer and BT broadband. I amaftergoing into it now and got in o.k. The page was very slow in comingup.Perhaps I am short of memory - could that be a factor? I have had notroublewith Ryanair though. My computer I think is nearly bunched, I amhaving alot of trouble with it of late but I am waiting for Vista to come onstreambefore purchasing a new one. Any idea when this is going to roll forthehome user?
