Maureen,

The following is my personal opinion at the moment. Having upgraded, or having
had to upgrade, to Windows XP last summer, I'm glad I did, knowing even that
Vista was only a few months away. The consumer edition of Vista rolls out on
january 30. If you were to get a new Windows XP computer now, it'd probably be
at a reduced price. Vista will unfortunately not be plain sailing for a while,
for those of us with legacy software and hardware to bring to the mix. It
seems that everything wil have to have the *very* latest drivers for it to work
on Vista. In short, if your computer dies, which hopefully it won't; but if it
does, then you may want to 'get what you can', so that your printer and
scanner, for example, would continue to work for you, with Windows XP, as a
sort-of interim measure, until the various manufacturers have caught up with
Vista software and hardware requirements.

Hello Cearbhall, I am using Internet Explorer and BT broadband. I am
after going into it now and got in o.k. The page was very slow in
coming up. Perhaps I am short of memory - could that be a factor? I
have had no trouble with Ryanair though. My computer I think is nearly
bunched, I am having a lot of trouble with it of late but I am waiting
for Vista to come on stream before purchasing a new one. Any idea when
this is going to roll for the home user?
  Thanks for replying,
  Maureen.
