Hi folks!
They've taken the access site off line, apparently for "essential
maintenance". It's just as well I'm not planning a party...
Let's see if they've fixed our immediate problem once it's back. The
problem of having 2 separate sites I think is more of a general issue
that'll take some campaigning.
Cheers,

Robbie

Hi Flor,

I appreciate you emailing with your suggestions, however, Amazon website
and Tesco websites are not constructed by using the same "funny
constructs" that is to say, Tesco uses ordinary links, and standard
forms with fields, buttons etc. therefore, there is no point trying to
double-click and use any of the JAWS tricks used for accessing Amazon.
It is about time, Tesco integrated the "accessible" site into the main
site, and made all accessible instead of having two "fairly dodgy"
sites!

This could be an ongoing dilemma if we as a group in society don't put
pressure on the powers that be so as to realise change!

p.s. Has anyone had a difficulty in finding Fig-rolls and other biscuits
on the access site? we never seem to be able to find certain items that
we should have in the various categories?

Regards:

Maybe, if you double left-click (route JAWS to PC, then hit
left-click once or twice) instead of enter, it will confirm your order?
Such is the way with some of the Amazon sites arund the place. If you
pprefer, turn off Forms Mode with Insert+z before doing this. (I have
no Tesco store, locally.)

                Hi Maria!
Yes, I experienced exactly the same. I'd say it's
Tesco's fault. They've
recently made some changes and since then I've had this
problem. In my
case it did work after several attempts though.
Just to make sure I'll forward this to VICS. It is
conceivable that we
need to change our browser settings to correspond with
what ever they've
done to the site. But I doubt it.

                Cheers,
                Robbie

                Hi folks.

Last night I did my Tesco shopping on line as usual.
This time however
                I've
had some very annoying problems with tesco access site.

First off, almost every time I'd press the add selected
products to
                basket
button or the update your basket button, I'd get this
message telling
                me
that such page was not found on tesco.ie web site,
therefore I ended up
going back to the previous page and pressing the button
again. It
                usually
worked when I did it the second time round. When I got
to checkout
                however
and pressed the confirm my order button, I got that
stupid message again
                no
matter how many times I went back and tried again!

At the end I had to do my ordering via the main tesco
site and that was
                some
very big pain in the neck! I nearly had an apoplectic
shock by the time
                I
finally managed to put my order through.

What I'd like to know is this: had anybody else
experienced the same
problem with the tesco access site lately or is it just
me?

The reason I need to know is because if someone else
experienced this,
                then
we've got a problem with the site once again and we'd
need to bring it
                to
the attention of the site developers. If however it's
just me, then
                there
must be something wrong with my own internet settings
and there would be
                no
need to disturb anyone at tesco if that is the case.

I'd be very grateful if someone could either let me know
if they'd had
problems lately or if indeed someone wouldn't mind
logging into the
                tesco
access site and adding a few items to their basket and
then removing
                some
items and pressing the update basket button in order to
see if the
                problem
                is with the site.

                Thanks a million in advance,
                Maria.
