Yes, fixed. Builds now with Jack 0.118.0 here.

Just to be clear, that won't be happening in 0.060. It'll be evolving in
the 0.062-preX series.

yes, seeing 0.060 mature I dared a look in the future... though OT here.

I notice that all the allegedly nrpn accessible controls in zyn relate to
effects control. Is it really that desirable to be tweaking effects
settings via midi control?

I'd say no. I don't use the effects much and there are other midi
controllable effect-apps out there.
