Cal,

As I understand it, if the licence is strictly GPLv2 only (not GPLv2
or later), that's not compatible with GPLv3 in the same program.

See:

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#v2v3Compatibility

It seems I incorrectly tagged my derived files, and hence the whole
application
as GPL2 (only). The original zynaddsubfx files from which they were derived
are
in fact all "GPL 2 or later". There was discussion of the licensing on
zynaddsubfx-user back in 2007, requesting that the original zynaddsubfx
author
consider changing zyn's licence from "GPL2 only" to "GPL2 or later".

<http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=46D7BCDA.108%40gmail.com&forum_name=zynaddsubfx-user>

Subsequent to that discussion, he did in fact change zynaddsubfx to "GPL 2
or
later".  The original zynaddsubfx files are all tagged accordingly, and I've
also seen a copy of a private email to a third party, dated 9 Sep 2007, in
which Paul confirms that he had made the changes, and committed them to cvs.

I figure if I correct my error, and tag all yoshimi's derived files in line
with their respective original zyn sources (ie, "GPL2 or later"), then the
incompatibility with my GPL3 files should be resolved. Yes?

cheers, Cal

Yes, that sounds good to me. Thanks for the fast response and
apologies for inadvertently opening a can of worms...

Cheers,
Adam
