Confession time :)

Fairly early in my descent? into electronic music I had a look at session
management and considered what was available too limited, and contrary to my
way of working - I'd already been consolidating project files into separate
folders. I also include a build file which I start to fill in as I develop a
project.

My projects are not usually especially complex at the best of time. For
example, I think I've only used 2 instances of yoshimi on one occasion. And the
jack connections are fairly obvious from what's in the build file and what the
various 'bits' are capable of.

For example The directory for 'Antartica' contains the files:

Antartica.bld
Antartica.jam
Antartica.rg
Antartica.xmz

and the build file is:

####
Uses:
Rosegarden
Yoshimi
SY35 @ 0dB into M-audio 2496
Sound Canvas @ 0dB into M-audio 2496
jammin

Record TimeMachine

Cleanup None

Notes:
jammin on full mix.

Composed 1993
First Recorded 1993
Latest Recording 14 May 2010
####

That little lot enables me to create an exact duplicate of the tune if I want
to. The jack connections are trivially obvious, and just by copying that one
directory I have everything I need to recreate the tune on another machine.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
