Thanks for that tip Saqib but I must admit if I was purchasing something like a TV, my 1st question would be 'where are the controls'. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib Hussain" <saqibh23@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

What concerns me deeply about these modern sets is that they have a
touch control pannel at the front. I bought a tv from Argos and it
doesn't have any physical buttons. It's pure madness. I was totally
unaware of these touch pannels as I hadn't purchased a tv in at least
3 years.

Another suggestion could be if you want to download Webbie and watch those
programmes on BBCTV at a later stage then you could download the
audiodescribed ones. You can Google for Webbie for the blind.

  Hi Niamh.

Not all tv’s unfortunately can receive audio description. If it is
available on your set, there may be a menu option for it in the audio
language settings in the menu system or there may be a dedicated
accessibility menu for settings of this nature. You need to refer to the
instructions supplied with your TV set, upgrade the firmware of the set if
an upgrade is available through the internet or connect a third party
Freeview receiver like the TVonics which has been specifically designed to
provide access to accessibility features.

All the best and good luck, Ibrahim.

My television is smart, if you know what I mean, and connects directly to
the internet.
I can not find, with sighted help, a way of accessing audio description,
am I being stupid?
