Umm, it was some nitrous. Also tried water and LOX earlier, wanted to
increase density of flow into engine ( a WW2 idea). No det's. That part of
the project worked fine. It was the ever growing expanse of a custom plane
(not the F_15) that did the project in.

I believe John is referring to ALASA, not RASCAL et al. ALASA was using a stock F-15 and a mixed-monoprop nitrous/acetylene rocket, in Yet Another Attempt to build a smallsat launcher.
