I believe ALASA was running their nitrous/acetylene mix at about -50_degC,
which isn't really all that cryogenic. Should be feasible with an
ordinary card-gap apparatus and a big walk-in freezer set really low. :-)
Or just take the thing to Alaska in January. (More-accessible places like
Saskatoon do get down to -50 at times in the more severe winters -- been
there, done that, happy not to do it again -- but it's less predictable.)
The trickiest bit would be not the temperature, but loading a card-gap
tester with a liquid that you'd prefer to mix up only by remote control.
Might need a bit of development work for a tester with automated loading.
(Although quite possibly someone's already done it...)
