I know I'm so late in joining this discussion (which is probably closed
already). And I also saw a lot of emails in this thread (which I didn't
read because I wanted to see the logo through my eyes without any
explanations, which is how anybody outside of this mailing list will see
it), and here is what I saw...
(a) Left palm with the marudhaani dot in the centre. Very indigenous.
Nice.
(b) Rising sun (but very low risk of being mixed with DMK symbol as the
dot is organish).
(c) A bharathanatyam symbol which (to my layman knowledge) means both
stop, as well as 'be calm, I am there' (reassuring)
(d) A longish ring finger, which (going by the cliche) means somebody
skilled in the arts.
(e) Slender fingers usually characterises those who work hard.
I understand the left hand was chosen to link this with copyleft, but I so
wish this were the right hand, because an open right hand signifies
somebody who is happy to give.
Oops, and I forgot to add the obvious... This logo ROCKS!!
