all said, I guess your wiki has most of my wishes over there...now,
how to bring that to the notice of the emacs developers ???
I never bothered after starting that wiki page. May be some one should
post it in the emacs-devel list. And btw, emacs cvs has gtk2 support
which is still not well architectured. Gtk2 is only used for the
menus, scrollbars, .. The buffer is still the same old emacs buffer
(no anti-aliased fonts). Extensions like tabbar.el (for eg.) could
make use of GtkNotebook if emacs was made extensible with the toolkit
(rather than just the menus). No more buffer hacking then.
