I'm just wondering. Supposing, you were stuck with a plain old
text console.., how will you develop using Anjuta/Glade/`any other
gui based ide`. ?? Emacs was not originally build for
GUI. However, they added that because GUI became popular. But the
main motive was to retain the basic functionality when running in
both console and on the X.
Anjuta is a good IDE alright., but comparing it with Emacs is not
proving a point. Emacs has tonnes of features which are not even
imaginable with Anjuta/Glade/*. The main thing that Emacs users
love (atleast me) is that, it provides integration with all your
day to day work. Emacs is _not_ an IDE. It can be used as an
IDE. And it does do a pretty good job at it too.
You got to use Emacs to really get the feel of it.
