I think I'm waiting for a cheap ATSC & QAM Tivo-like hard disc and DVDR like product that does not require a guide subscription or a cable card for non-premium stuff.
But I guess even without the hard drive it could replace all those VCR's in the world and avoid tempest on transition day.

That's something of a landmark, IMO. Also, I went back to our local Circuit City yesterday, and again they had sold out the new Samsung STBs. The salesman said they could only stock 3 at a time, though, and that they always sell out right away. So where does that figure in all our prognostications?Bert _________________________________________________________________From photos to predictions, The MSN Entertainment Guide to Golden Globes hasit all. http://tv.msn.com/tv/globes2007/?icid=nctagline1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways:- Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
