I don't think so. What percentage of television production facilities use flat panel displays as master match monitors
instead of CRTs?

Apples and Oranges.

The subject was consumer adoption of LCD panel displays (and Plasma too for that matter).

The significant change here is that the average size and average price paid for a display by consumers has increased substantially as a result of the technology shift away from CRTs.

As for professional production applications, flat panels are finding all kinds of useful niches. Probably the most significant is in mobile production trucks where the space and weight savings are considerable. But broadcast quality panel displays are popping up everywhere now. I know of several people locally who have bought LCD field monitors for use on HDTV and STDV shoots. These same folks only have a few CRTS left in their entire facilities.

Years ago I remember the reality that most facilities had an NTSC receiver somewhere in the facility so that the editors and clients could see what the final product would look like at home. Now the "confidence monitor" is an LCD panel that is typically 32" to 40" diagonal.
