There's a big difference between watching short, funny clips, or short how-to clips, or any of the huge variety available on YouTube, as compared to scripted drama and sports. True that you don't need to watch on a schedule, but then again, who does that anymore? For any TV except maybe news? I don't think that's the main difference here. Might as well compare TV prime time shows consumed vs singles on the radio or on Internet radio channels. It's just a different beast altogether.
