From the October 29 Monday Memo: - Later in this memo, there is a more thorough report on the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Fall HDTV Guide figures, but I thought it worth noting a few here. According to their charts (some updated in September and others in October), there are now 312 TV models with integrated DTT reception capability for sale in the U.S., but there almost as many -- 308 models -- that have dropped analog tuners rather than add DTT. Furthermore, there are another 64 models 36-inch or larger that have NTSC tuners but no DTT-reception capability, clearly violating the "tuner" mandate. I did not do any calculations on 25-inch to 35-inch models, only 50% of which are currently under the mandate. The URLs to the various CEA charts are in that memo. http://www.digitaltelevision.com/mondaymemo/mlist/ TTFN, Mark John Golitsis wrote: >Give me an example of a company that's in violation.
