True. Although as we saw recently, integrated sets are starting to sell now
quite happily with the ATSC receiver at "noise level." Meaning, whatever
impact it has on price, the impact is lost amid all other features. The
Philips 32" LCD mit ATSC receiver is pricced at Costco just $100 more than
my one year old 26" LCD without ATSC receiver. And it cost less than other
equally sized LCD panels that were without ATSC, at Costco.

I think yes, but not the older designs. New chips are more integrated. E.g.,
the STMicroelectronics solution, both demod and decoder, were built to 90 nm
design rules. That's how you become profitable at lower prices. If the new
chips can be sold for about $40 additional in integrated sets, compared with
NSTC-only, which I believe we read in one of the recent press releases, then
I would expect them to be profitable at $100 or $120 in stand-alone boxes.
You know that if these manufacturers claimed they could make an STB for $50,
the $40 built-in additional cost to consumers can only drop lower.
