After all, "it is only a game" -
but it's usually more fun to play a game
when you can be sure the rules are fair and consistent.
So we try to advise readers of a good set of consistent
rules which work for all the books...

If you're referring to the game rule issues being discussed, we have
no more authority than any other reader to standardize and define. We
derive our authority to footnote from the text itself by research into
similar situations. Where we can't be definitive, we try to provide
informed guidance, again derived from research into authoritative
texts.
