Hmm. Here's a thought, since everyone keeps mentioning the gent's
(gents', gents?).

Men's room.

There's no question that that's a plural possessive, right? It's never
'men room' or 'man's room'.

(Actually, I see 'children's playground' has already come up, which has
the same property, but 'men's room' is such a common turn of phrase that
I wouldn't even think of it as different, whereas I might see the
playground as more of a construction and thus liable to obey whatever
grammatical rules seem to apply, rather than an established but perhaps
slightly non-standard style.)
