I was in a tent in Cornwall whilst you guys were having this conversation :) but just to suggest: if you did an paletted (indexed colour) PNG (rather than a 24-bit RGB PNG)of the Freeway Warrior maps, that might make a better compromise between image
quality and filesize than JPEGging them would? (JPEG would have better colour fidelity but greater mungeiness, whereas PNG would be crisp but you'd have to dither around with colours a bit
to get a compromise) ..... just a suggestion! DAVID----- Original Message ----- From: "Jonathan Blake" <blake.jon@xxxxxxxxx>

They're most notable around the lettering on the maps. Anyway, your idea is a worthy one. I've put it on my "someday maybe" list, unless some go-get-em XSL developer wants to make another transformation. :) -- Jon ~~~~~~ Manage your subscription at http://www.freelists.org/list/projectaon
