One reason I can think of pretty readily ... Navigon won't die after a year; you can choose not to update to a newer version but you don't have to keep paying for a subscription.

Even on other specialized apps, i.e. Flexy, BrailleTouch and MBraille, I have always used the demo first to determine usability before I have decided on investing in the app. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Otten" <motten53@xxxxxxxxx>

Alex, why was there no outcry regarding apps like Navigon and TomTom which offer no free trial and are mass market apps with vastly greater income potential than this one? Buy Navigon, decide its interface is too complicated and you're out of luck, and when that app first came out, the price was not that much less than the price of the Sendero app. Sure, subsequently, they broke it up in to regional maps, each of which had a lower price, like around 30 bucks or so. But there has never been a trial or free version of that app to my knowledge, and it wasn't always all that accessible; its interface is clunky, and it doesn't do some of the specific things, like intersection announcement, that Sendero does. Yet, there was nobody on any list I am aware of who thought there should be a freebee or nearly freebee. What's up with that? Double standard perhaps?
