this is about FOSS and not languages. lets stop the thread here. what ever
name you would like to keep you can suggest, and let people decide. its not
about single user. its about a community.
As a ILUGC member you have all the rights to ask. but in the spirit of
community, you should be ready to accept what community decides. i am here
not to say that u didnt accept. give your suggestions. who ever organizes,
will take into consideration.
And did I ever mention anywhere in any email that I will not accept
the name decided by the community. Or did I write any where that I am
the one who will decide the name ? Dear, please spend 30 seconds to
read the thread carefully and spend 10 seconds using the 250gms
hanging above your shoulders. I think you should be capable enough to
arrive at a conclusion that "I am only suggesting that we need not
stick to English names and not engaging in any kind of language
chauvanism".
As for stopping the thread, why should we stop ? When members are
suggesting good and creative names you are asking them to stop ? IMHO,
it will be stupid of us to stop right now. BTW, may I ask what right
you have to order the thread to be stopped ?
My suggestion for coming up with Indian language name was to aimed at
adding another dimension to the creativity and not add some kind of
chauvanism.
Also, it is a good idea to read the whole email and not just few
lines before arriving at a conclusion. The reply you quoted in this
mail was originally aimed at SRS because he was thinking that a name
in local Indian language will not be cool enough.
