like i said, "general machines have no access to outside at all except for web
browsing (and anything that can be made to appear thus by tunnelling)". nothing
is done to specifically enable or block m$ chat / im thingies. if the service
operates on plain http (without requiring connect to arbitrary ports), it will
just work. if not, it will most probably not work at all.
