You are mixing up abstract concepts and instanciations of the
concept. The Logo, as it stands, can have multiple representations --
some of which are hardware (when printed on paper and ink) -- and it
has a software representation.
Conceptually, they are different instanciations/representations
of the same abstract entity -- and one of these representations is
software.
So, a building blueprint can indeed have a software
representation.
Just as Debian makes software so good that other people are tempted
to use it for their products. Like canonical. Or Xandros.

software is all about. Retain copyrights. Feed back
improvements. Use our creative efforts for whatever you want, or

No. The Debian official logo is non-free -- we realize that.
It is never shipped by any Debian product, since our products are all
fee. Check it out.
Having a non-free official logo is a blot on our name -- which
is why it is so rarely used. Our website uses the free logo, for
instance.
