My personal choice is CC or GFDL.
But as Conf organizer, How do you protect that the same logo is NOT
used for a Conf/Event with same name, but expanded like "Frustrated
Open Source Software user Conf". Do we need to worry about this?
The same arguments would also apply to other software, no? How
Do I know that people will no take this thing called Linux, and use it
in some other OS, called perhas "free software like Linux sux"?
In my opinion, this is not something to worry about. Firstly,
this is unlikely, secondly, so what? Thirdly, closed licenses are
unlikely to dissuade people that childish; you are mostly restricting
people who would follow the legal issues.
When you release free software for use byy other people, others
realize you are not responsible for whatever use people make of things
you are freely giving to the world.
What is the downside?
