I agree. But mostly this type of discussions are going (away) from the
topic to person flaming. That is bad and We have to stop that kind of

My personal choice is CC or GFDL.
But as Conf organizer, How do you protect that the same logo is NOT
used for a Conf/Event with same name, but expanded like "Frustrated
Open Source Software user Conf". Do we need to worry about this?
I was doing some research and find that most people tend to license
their logos as they license their software - with the exception of
Mozilla and Linux foundation who are very strict. And, of course,
Debian! Anyway our logo is composed of a Bharatanatyam mudra - which
is thousands of years old and cannot be claimed by anyone, and a
pottu which is worn by millions of women all over the world - again
cannot be claimed by anyone. It is quite possible that a combination
of the two has already been used - maybe in hundreds of ways. So lets
license it under the BSD license - which is the freest of all
licenses - and make everyone happy. After all, we cannot really
justify any sort of restriction on the use, commercial or otherwise,
of pottu and mudra.
