[Ilugc] how do I receive alerts on my mobile device?

you need to send alerts from India to US, or from US to India?
from servers located in US+india to cellphone in India . basically the
alerts should go to email address which will be received on my handheld
device in India in turns.
Blackberry does the same, so do alphanumeric pagers. These are good
enough to get the work done, but not most economicaly feasible.
I am looking for the optimal solution. 'GPRS + email application e.g
gmail app ' is another solution, but in this case i dont get sms lke
alerts. I need to open the application
and check for the emails every time. This wont work all the times as I
would be getting time critical alerts.
In this case, the email->mobile gateway->sms option would be suitable.
http://www.smscountry.com/ is one such service provider.
In that case you need to tie up with some sms gateway. Then write a
program which uses the sms gateway API to send the sms.
I do believe that blackberry or such service would be more feasible in these
cases. Thanks for your inputs though.
